1/15/2024 0 Comments Ableton live suiteAs of May of this year, they share considerably more than just their version numbers. They are some of the most popular software around, used by many professionals. Add more, mix n match, and have fun! There's transient detection, and you can manually move the audio to get things in time if it's off.Logic Pro vs Ableton are some of the best DAW’s in music production. Once they're in, you can just drag them onto an empty clip space, play, retune, loop etc. Alternatively, I sometimes just upload files to Dropbox, and then download them onto the PC rather than connecting it up - really depends how many there are. I put them in the Audioshare iTunes shared folder so they're accessible via iFunbox. Once plugged in I open the iPad via iFunbox (free), and drag my files from the iPad onto the PC. I'm guessing you might need an adapter if yours is USB3, but they're pretty cheap. I have an old Air2, and this I connect by plugging the power lead USB 2 end into my PC. THanks has answered part of this, so I'll reply to the bit I know! good on you said: and others I might have missed. Good on you for carrying on and making/creating music. THanks said: and others I might have missed.ĭude, I just wanna say I'm sorry to hear that your health is not so great nowadays. that way I know I have to do something :-) I want to make commitment to this and spend the money. God knows I have a ton of unfinshed projects.Īlso I am a liner person and based on what some others have said its OK? I can do this all in Live? I am very interested in what some of you say that you dump all your audio into live and mix and match it. Will my ipad work ok with PC? meaning I dont need to look at MAC? I want to integrate iPAD with PC.ĭo I need a new type of USB C interface to make clean connection to PC? I have PC that is powerful enough by far to run Live. I have been a FL Studio guy on desktop for years but never really get anything done. All the music that I make (Techno, EDM, Ambient) alot of folks use Live. I have tried to move away from Desktop due to health issues, but slowly creeping back to it. I did not want to start another thread and hope I am not hijacking this. Now that the great has added MIDI and sequencing to the Matrix (yeah!!), the transition from desktop to iOS has become a bit easier.Īnyway, since Gadget and Stockholm, I'm now using Live much less than and others I might have missed. I've been spending a lot of time composing MIDI clips in Live's piano roll so after many experiments, I found that LK plus the Matrix were all I needed. Touchable Pro is great too but again, not for everyone.Ī Launchpad plus a few Live scripts for editing notes, chords or launching clips can be all you need or not what you need at all. LK - for Ableton Live & Midi looks like fun for iOS, but surely if I have a touch-screen PC laptop the same results can be enabled without the need of an iPad as a controller? In any case, I don't mind waiting for Black Friday, if LK - for Ableton Live & Midi really would be superior to a used Push ver 1, bearing in mind that my iPad Air 2 128 would then be relegated to controlling Ableton Live, and would then not be as easily available to run other apps linked to Ableton Live at the same time, thus kind'a defeating the benefits of Ableton Link, don't you think?Īpart from the fact that a Push controller only really makes sense when using it with Live, I highly recommend getting to know Live really well first. There are a couple of iOS options: LK controller (unfortunately you’ve just missed their deal), and Touchable Pro, which is a bit pricey, though not in comparison to buying a said: My plan is to buy the Ableton Push hardware (ver 1 or 2) used via my local Craigslist as there are a bunch of them on there, but at this point I am not even sure I'd want the Ableton Push hardware. I assume by "a Push" you mean the Ableton Push hardware? Sorry, I am not sure if the Push hardware requires additional software, but I assume not. I have bought some packs and a Push so maybe that’s factored into my upgrade pricing from Lite? Couldn’t find info on exact discounts earlier on (even briefly visited KVR!) You can download all the sounds that are bundled with Suite from the demo version. Activation is a breeze, just need to be online once. Sounds like the educational license is definitely the way to go then! price won’t change in September so you can take the 30 day test drive risk free.
